Proficiency Test in English for Undergraduate and
Post-graduate students
(Also referred as EPT - English Proficiency Test)
An International Student who has been granted admission to any
of the courses after passing the qualifying examination from
Statutory Board or Statutory University outside India will have
to appear for the Proficiency
Test in English conducted by the International Students Centre,
University of Pune.
International students, who are native speakers of English and
the non-native speakers of English who have passed the
qualifying examination from English speaking countries, are
exempted from the Proficiency Test in English.
Students belonging to one of the following countries are
exempted from taking EPT:
1. The USA
2. The UK
3. Canada
4. Australia
5. New Zealand
6. Sri Lanka
7. Mauritius
8. Nepal
9. Bhutan
10. Kenya
11. The NRIs and PIOs
The test is conducted in August every year.
It is mandatory for every student to pass the Proficiency Test
in English. Those who fail in this test will have to enrol
themselves for an English Remedial Course (E.R.C.). To see fees
for the E.R.C.
NOTE: The student should read the notice board in the
International Student Centre Office for dates of Examination.
